Scope

Appliances and scope of work

  • Wall-mounted air conditioners

Indoor unit on the wall, outdoor unit outside on a bracket or on the roof.

  • Ceiling cassette air conditioners

Indoor unit built into the ceiling; the ceiling and pipe route are surveyed first.

What the technician does on site

  1. Survey the site and agree with the customer where the indoor and outdoor units and the pipe run go.

  2. Hang the indoor unit with enough clearance below the ceiling for return air; place the outdoor unit somewhere ventilated and sheltered, with room to shed heat.

  3. Run the copper pipe, power cable and drain pipe neatly, with as few joints and bends as possible and enough fall on the drain.

  4. Vacuum the pipework before opening the refrigerant valves.

  5. Connect power to a dedicated circuit breaker with correctly sized cable.

  6. Test-run the unit and check cooling, water leaks, gas leaks and noise; show the customer how to use it and sign off with photos.

Process

Every job goes through five steps

00Customer purchaseTrigger: The customer buys an appliance from a brand, marketplace or retail chain. This triggers the job; Bluebolt Services is not involved yet.

  1. Step 01: Order intake

Brand or retailer → Bluebolt Services

Installation orders enter Bluebolt Services' system through the channel agreed with the brand or retailer.

  2. Step 02: Technician dispatch

    Bluebolt Services

The system assigns the nearest technician with the right skills and an open slot.

  3. Step 03: Appointment confirmation

    Technician ↔ customer

The technician calls the customer to confirm the time and address.

  4. Step 04: Installation and sign-off

    Technician + customer

The technician installs and test-runs the unit, then signs off with the customer using photos in the app.

  5. Step 05: Reconciliation and warranty

Bluebolt Services → brand or retailer, customer

Bluebolt Services reports to and reconciles with the brand or retailer. The customer registers the installation warranty.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Why does the pipework need to be vacuumed?

Vacuuming removes air and moisture from the pipes, prevents refrigerant blockages and helps the compressor last longer. Skip it and the unit tends to lose cooling after a while.

Why shouldn't the pipe run be too short or have sharp bends?

Pipes that are too short, sharply bent or joined in many places make the unit cool poorly, use more power and leak refrigerant more easily. The minimum length depends on each brand's guidelines.

How are extra parts charged?

The customer and the technician agree on site using the reference parts prices, and the customer pays the technician directly.

See reference parts prices
What should the customer prepare before the technician arrives?

A power supply, clear access and a safe work area, plus someone on hand to check and sign off the work when it is done.

How long is the installation warranty?

The warranty period depends on the type of service and is set out in the warranty policy.

New installations carry a 2-month workmanship warranty from sign-off
